Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Survey Party Chief or Civil Engineer to join our team at Cardinal Engineering Associates, Inc. as a key member of our Land Surveying department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage survey crews to ensure timely and accurate completion of boundary and topographic surveys for infrastructure and land development projects.
  • Perform site control, boundary reconnaissance, construction staking, and topographic surveys using advanced surveying instruments and software.
  • Prepare and review topographic and boundary maps using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure survey data is accurately integrated into project plans and designs.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure high-quality survey data and deliverables.
  • Manage and maintain survey equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in land surveying and CAD technology.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in land surveying, with a strong background in boundary and topographic surveys.
  • Proven track record of supervising and managing survey crews, with excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other surveying software, including GPS, robotics, total stations, levels, and data collectors.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High School diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
