Lead Client Executive - Employee Benefits

The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Trust is seeking a highly skilled Lead Client Executive to oversee the administration, compliance, and regulatory aspects of employee benefit plans. As a trusted advisor, you will ensure adherence to ERISA regulations and provide guidance on ERISA-related issues to facilitate compliant plan participation and annual compliance functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan Compliance and Administration: Ensure all employee benefit plans comply with ERISA, DOL, and IRS regulations. Monitor and review plan documents, SPDs, and other related materials for compliance.
  • Regulatory Filings and Documentation: Prepare and file necessary documents with the IRS and DOL, including annual returns/reports and summary annual reports. Maintain accurate and up-to-date plan records, ensuring all documentation is in compliance with ERISA standards.
  • Consultation and Guidance: Provide guidance to adopting employers and participants on ERISA regulations and compliance issues. Interface with plan vendors and service providers on a regular basis.
  • Plan Design and Implementation: Collaborate with HR, legal, and finance teams to design and implement new benefit plans or modify existing ones. Ensure that plan design meets the organization's goals while complying with ERISA and other relevant laws.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of ERISA, DOL, and IRS regulations governing employee benefit plans.
  • Experience in benefits administration, compliance, and plan management.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification such as Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or similar.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a corporate or consulting environment.
