POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Philanthropy Officer plays a crucial role in advancing the major gift initiatives, aiming for a fundraising target of $1 million, while managing a diverse portfolio of potential donors. This role is under the supervision of the Executive Vice President of Strategy & Development and is tasked with implementing innovative approaches to secure significant contributions of $25,000 or more.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify, cultivate, and sustain ongoing relationships with a select group of individual donors or prospects to enhance immediate and future funding opportunities.
  • Act as a primary fundraising representative alongside the Executive Vice President and Director of Development, fostering donor relationships through personal engagement, solicitation, and stewardship efforts.
  • Increase annual contributions from individual supporters through strategic relationship management and effective moves management, focusing on long-term donor engagement.
  • Develop personalized engagement and stewardship strategies for each donor, tailored to their giving history and potential.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Vice President and Vice President of Marketing Communications to regularly update the Case for Support for donor meetings.
  • Provide ongoing reports to the Executive Vice President and Director of Development regarding major gift solicitations and engagement strategies.
  • Prepare for routine portfolio review sessions and moves management discussions in partnership with the Executive Vice President.
  • Work with leadership to create unique giving opportunities aligned with current fundraising campaigns and identify necessary promotional materials.
  • Recruit and nurture individual donors through year-round engagement initiatives to maximize revenue and foster donor loyalty.
  • Coordinate meetings for the Executive Vice President and Director of Development to concentrate on strategic donor stewardship.
  • Partner with the Database Manager to execute prospect management strategies utilizing customer relationship management tools.
  • Identify and relay potential opportunities to enhance Chapman Partnership's fundraising capabilities and service delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of six years of experience in fundraising and donor cultivation; a Master's degree is advantageous.
  • At least five years of experience in the nonprofit sector with a proven record in fundraising, relationship building, and program management, including major gifts and capital campaigns. Certification as a CFRE is preferred.
  • Experience with donor portfolio management and moves management is beneficial.
  • Proven ability to facilitate donor solicitations and manage a successful donor pipeline.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, particularly Raiser's Edge, is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
