We are seeking a qualified Drainage Project Engineer to contribute to our Southwest Region operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gathering and evaluating data for incorporation into project plans and documentation.
  • Utilizing engineering software to develop designs for stormwater management systems, storm drains, and erosion control measures.
  • Conducting hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for transportation improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinating with various regulatory and water management agencies for permitting processes.
  • Assisting in the creation of project plans using advanced CADD software, including MicroStation, OpenRoads, Civil3D, and AutoCAD.
  • Contributing to the development and/or revision of complex engineering reports and calculations across diverse projects.
  • Preparing project construction details, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and specifications.
  • Reviewing project estimates, details, and calculations to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Assisting in the formulation of project timelines.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, subconsultants, and other professionals to ensure successful project delivery within budget and schedule.
  • Overseeing design activities, supervising production efforts, and mentoring junior staff and designers.
  • Performing additional professional, management, marketing, and networking tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's degree in water resources is advantageous).
  • Preferred valid Professional Engineering Licensure (P.E.) or the ability to obtain it within six months.
  • 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in drainage/water resources and TxDOT projects.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, Geopak, Civil3D, Storm CAD, ORD, ICPR, HEC-RAS, GIS, and/or SUDA software.
  • Experience with TxDOT drainage design and a strong understanding of TxDOT standards and procedures.
