Position Summary:
The Civil Site Engineer plays a crucial role in delivering design services that support projects related to Substation and Transmission Engineering for High Voltage Electric facilities. This position is integral to the Civil/Site Development Engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:
The Civil Site Engineer may be tasked with the following duties:
1. Collaborate with project teams to create or modify civil site development design documents.
2. Adhere to project-specific standards to ensure efficient design progression.
3. Develop detailed site development drawings.
4. Utilize engineering application software for site grading, drainage, and surveys.
5. Execute engineering and design functions to meet project timelines.
6. Communicate and coordinate project activities with client representatives and project teams.
7. Ensure compliance with engineering standards including NESC, IEEE, ANSI, AISC, and ACI.
8. Effectively manage documentation through the document management system.
9. Take ownership of the quality and accuracy of work.
10. Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution or an equivalent degree with relevant experience in the Civil Engineering domain. Candidates should either be licensed professional engineers or capable of obtaining licensure within two years of employment.

A minimum of three years of direct experience in civil site development design is essential. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in site design, grading, drainage, stormwater management, land easements, surveying, and earthwork, particularly in the context of electric substations.
  • Knowledge of soil erosion and sediment control, stormwater modeling, permitting, and pavement design.
  • Proficiency in engineering software, particularly AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation 3D, and Pondpack.
  • Comprehensive understanding of engineering standards.
  • Familiarity with civil design documents necessary for electrical substation projects.
  • Competence in common office software applications.
  • A collaborative mindset and effective communication skills.

Physical Requirements:
This role requires minimal physical exertion, with the expectation of prolonged periods of sitting and computer work. Occasional outdoor exposure to varying weather conditions may occur. Travel for training and meetings may be necessary.
