Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Oversee a diverse range of commercial solar initiatives, acting as either the lead or supporting Project Coordinator based on project requirements.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and organize project plans under the direction of a Project Executive or Division Manager.
  • Construction Supervision: Ensure that construction activities comply with contractual obligations.
  • Contract Oversight: Perform comprehensive reviews and management of contracts.
  • Knowledge Development: Establish yourself as the primary resource within the organization for all aspects of the project's general and specific conditions.
  • Cost Estimation: Create detailed estimates for selected projects by analyzing plans, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Financial Management: Maintain positive cash flow through diligent oversight.
  • Client Engagement: Initiate discussions with clients to clarify project scope, timelines, and necessary resources for successful execution.
  • Budget Oversight: Ensure that labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor budgets are achieved or exceeded.
  • Material Coordination: Generate precise bills of materials for significant equipment acquisitions.
  • Subcontractor Negotiation: Participate in negotiations with subcontractors and issue comprehensive subcontracts.
  • Payment Management: Prepare subcontract requisitions, manage vendor invoices, and track payment schedules.
  • Team Collaboration: Conduct regular meetings with Assistant Coordinators and Project Engineers to oversee tasks and provide guidance.
  • Preconstruction Management: Oversee preconstruction activities such as permit applications, equipment sourcing, and prefabrication coordination.
  • Onsite Leadership: Attend site visits and meetings, updating project status reports and schedules.
  • Labor Management: Ensure timely reporting of labor and monitor workforce projections within budget.
  • Schedule Coordination: Develop and maintain project timelines to ensure adherence to deadlines.
  • Change Order Management: Prepare and negotiate all change orders effectively.
  • Cost Reporting: Compile monthly financial reports under the guidance of a Senior Project Manager or Division Manager.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years in electrical project engineering, estimating, and project coordination.
  • Project Management: Proven experience in managing electrical projects directly.
  • Estimating Skills: Background in estimating change orders.
  • Knowledge Base: Solid understanding of contract plans/specifications and project financials.
  • Educational Background: Completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program, extensive experience in the electrical sector, or a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Software Skills: Proficient in project management software such as Procore and estimating software like Accubid Change Order.
