About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Solar Drafter to join our team at Renewyx. As a Solar Drafter, you will play a critical role in transforming initial solar PV system concepts into fully detailed, construction-ready designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Engineering Efforts: You will lead engineering efforts for residential and commercial solar projects, ensuring that all designs meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
- Verify System Layouts: You will verify initial system layouts and gear locations specified by sales personnel, ensuring that all designs are accurate and meet customer requirements.
- Complete System Designs: You will complete system designs for PV projects, including site plans, mechanical racking and attachment plans, single-line electrical drawings, BOS location specifications, interconnection details, and labeling.
- Provide Project Information: You will provide streamlined project information and detailed bills of materials to procurement managers, ensuring that all necessary information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Support Operations and Sales: You will support operations, service, and sales departments with engineering expertise as needed, providing guidance and support to ensure the success of our solar projects.
Requirements:
- Strong Communication Skills: You will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders.
- Project Management: You will have the ability to multitask and manage numerous projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Design Experience: You will have at least 1 year of design or engineering experience related to renewable energy, with a strong understanding of solar PV systems and design principles.
- Technical Skills: You will be proficient in AutoCAD, with experience in PVSyst and Helioscope a plus. You will also have proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Education: You will have a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electrical Engineering (EE), or a related discipline.
- Knowledge and Skills: You will have knowledge of photovoltaic systems, NEC requirements, and construction practices, with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
