Your Team

The Office of Enforcement and Neighborhood Services (OENS) leads the agency's effort to work closely with other HPD divisions and community partners to identify buildings in distress, assess and develop strategies to address those properties, and work with responsible owners to improve conditions and return buildings to financial and physical health.

Your Impact

As the Lead Audit Specialist/Community Associate for the Division of Code Enforcement, you will assist the division in ensuring owner compliance with the New York City Housing Maintenance Code (HMC) and the New York State Multiple Dwelling Law (MDL) in privately-owned, multiple-unit dwellings and tenant-occupied apartments in one and two-family houses throughout the City.

Your Role

Under the direction of the Division of Code Enforcement, the selected candidate's responsibilities will include:

  • Performing complex analytical or coordination work related to Lead
  • Monitoring Lead performance reports
  • Maintaining Lead files, records, and logs
  • Preparing and creating spreadsheets
  • Conducting research and responding to inquiries
  • Updating tracking reports and inventory logs
  • Reviewing Lead forms and documents
  • Providing assistance to owners/managing agents
  • Providing interpretation
  • Making recommendations on Lead policies and procedures
  • Assisting the Lead Unit Chief and Supervision with special projects

NOTE: Candidates may be assigned to any office within the 5 boroughs and may be assigned to work evenings and weekends.
