$120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Systems Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with hybrid (on-prem and cloud) environments and SaaS-based applications. As a key member of our IT team, you will be responsible for provisioning and supporting servers, networks, and end-user computer infrastructure to support our ongoing and evolving research efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, configure, and support computer systems, network devices, servers, and virtualized environments.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and systems errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
  • Maintain documentation of IT procedures.
  • Automate processes for monitoring and patching IT systems.
  • Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, ensuring all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with minimal disruptions.
Requirements
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of network administration or system administration experience.
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems, software, hardware, and networking protocols.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience providing first-level IT support for in-office and remote employees.
  • Experience working in a mixed (Windows, Mac, Linux) desktop environment.
  • Experience with IT systems monitoring.
  • Experience with IT process automation.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written.
  • Ability to work in The AI Institute's office in Cambridge, MA, five days a week.
