Position Overview:
Green Oaks Nursing and Rehab is in search of a skilled Certified Medication Technician (CMT) to enhance our dedicated healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • As a Certified Medication Technician, you will be responsible for the preparation, administration, and documentation of medications provided to residents under the guidance of a Registered Nurse (RN) within established regulatory time frames.
  • You will monitor residents' vital signs as necessary, observe for expected outcomes, and report any adverse reactions or concerns regarding medication administration.
  • Prepare and administer medications including oral, topical, and suppository forms as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate dosage calculations and documentation of scheduled drugs at the start and end of each shift.

Additional Duties:
  • Communicate any observations regarding resident conditions, emergencies, or medication-related issues to the supervising nurse promptly.
  • Document vital signs, medication administration, and any relevant resident behaviors, along with facility incident reports.
  • Engage with supervisory staff to review and discuss the medication administration process and participate in ongoing evaluations.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of resident care plans concerning medication administration.
  • Maintain and organize the medication cart and supplies to comply with facility policies and procedures.
  • Provide direct care to residents within the scope of the CMT role while performing other relevant nursing assistant duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a valid Certified Medication Technician certification.
  • Preferred: 6 months of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a long-term care environment.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and transfer residents (up to 100 pounds unassisted), and perform various physical tasks.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and proficiency in nursing techniques, including vital sign monitoring and medication administration.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate resident charts and reports.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities and independent thinking.
  • Knowledge of hygiene and sanitation practices.
  • Professional demeanor and ethical conduct.
