Geologist Wanted for Engineering Project Teams

Timmons Group is seeking a Geologist to assist on engineering project teams performing geotechnical, civil, and structural engineering designs. The successful candidate will be responsible for specifying, implementing, and interpreting soil and rock investigations, including drilling and cone penetrometer testing and in-situ testing. They will also prepare design documents and write reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct geotechnical investigations and testing
• Prepare design documents and reports
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure successful project outcomes

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Geology
• At least 2 years of work experience in a Geotechnical Engineering firm or department
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing approximately 50 pounds
• Flexibility to modify personal schedule as required to meet project deadlines and client needs

Computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheets, are also essential for this role. Safety training will be provided prior to being given work assignments on construction sites. The successful candidate will be required to work out of town on occasion to meet client needs. Some work locations may feature rough terrain typical of construction sites.
