Job Summary:

The Network System Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. This role requires a strong background in network administration, cybersecurity, and virtualization technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
  • Design, implement, and manage network security measures to protect company data and systems from cyber threats.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of network and security solutions with business applications.
  • Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to identify and address potential risks.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to network configurations, security policies, and procedures.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users on network and security-related topics.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in network administration, cybersecurity, and virtualization technologies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience as a Network Administrator, Security Administrator, or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, routing, and switching technologies.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security.
  • Minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience with VMware vSphere and virtualization technologies.
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks and Product Data Management (PDM) systems is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network and security issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Security+, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or equivalent are preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Will to occasionally climb a ladder to ceiling height (approx. 2-3 times per year)
  • Ability to make day trips within 100 miles of corporate office to provide IT support in a manufacturing environment.
