Sunrise Telecom is seeking a highly skilled Aerial Lineman to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for constructing strand infrastructure and lashing fiber cables to strand.
Key Responsibilities- Operate bucket trucks and other equipment related to aerial fiber construction
- Set up job sites, including strand trailers, fiber trailers, and caddies
- Understand clearances from other utilities, ground, road, highway, sidewalk, and non-pedestrian areas
- Frame poles according to industry specifications
- Lash/over-lash single and multiple cable bundles of fiber cables
- Read and interpret network prints
- Climb poles using gaffs or ladders
- Follow OSHA safety requirements
- Communicate with crew leaders and other team members
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Combination of technical training and/or experience
- 1 year of relevant experience
- Previous experience in a construction environment preferred
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the position
- Ability to work nights and weekends, if necessary
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Valid driver's license
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Pass drug, background, DOT, and MVR screenings
While performing duties, the employee will work primarily in the field. The employee may be required to work outdoors in all types of weather and may be exposed to dust, fluctuating temperatures, and periodic high noise levels.
Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
TravelThe employee may be required to travel to other project sites in different states to assist with new project start-up. Travel may be for up to a 14-day period.
