Job Title: Financial Management Expert

The Thurston County Food Bank seeks a highly skilled Financial Management Expert to oversee the financial activities of the organization. As a key member of the management team, you will be responsible for managing the financial analysis and planning, accounting operations and reporting, budgeting and external audits. You will establish or improve upon the organization's financial policies and procedures, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance of the financial functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the President-CEO and the Executive Leadership in creating, improving, and implementing financial policies and procedures for the organization.
  • Oversee routine generation of timely and accurate internal and external financial reports, including monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Provide financial analyses, reports and forecasts to management.
  • Advise the President-CEO and management in financial decision-making and systems development and improvement.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a nonprofit or governmental environment.
  • Demonstrated progression in financial leadership and supervisory roles with at least three years of experience managing the finances of $5-10 million nonprofit organization.
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger, banking, job cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and nonprofit taxes and registrations.
  • Proficient in the use of financial software programs and Microsoft Office applications.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Estimated salary: $85,000 - $100,000 per annum
  • Benefits package includes PTO, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long term disability, Employee Assistance Program, and a SIMPLE IRA 3% match after one year in a benefit eligible position.
