Bakery Team Member Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Bakery Team Member to join our team at Metro Market. As a Bakery Team Member, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and assisting with the preparation and sales of bakery products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, making recommendations, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following proper sanitation and safety procedures.
  • Assist with the preparation and sales of bakery products, including mixing, baking, and decorating.
  • Operate bakery equipment, such as ovens, mixers, and slicers, according to company guidelines.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report any discrepancies to management.
  • Stay current with product knowledge and promotions to effectively communicate with customers.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve sales and customer service goals.
Requirements:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Basic math skills and ability to handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
  • Food safety certification and ability to obtain a food handlers permit.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bakery experience and knowledge of baking techniques.
  • Previous retail experience and knowledge of customer service principles.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in a second language.
