Position: Bilingual IT Systems Specialist for Japanese Operations

I. Overview
  • Accountable for the support and implementation of software and hardware interfaces for production and home-office operations related to Japan, including AS400, MC Frames, and specialized software tailored for the Japanese market.
  • Responsibilities include managing global systems associated with the Japan headquarters, creating new systems, and working closely with local IT teams.
  • Report to Operations, Executive Management, and IT departments in Japan as required.
II. Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and execute enhancement and maintenance protocols for AS400, MC Frames, and global information systems software and hardware.
  • Independently prepare for internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations.
  • Develop contingency strategies based on business needs.
III. Qualifications:
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Capable of lifting items weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in Windows operating systems and AS400.
  • Understanding of network and system architecture, basic coding principles, and strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Fluent in Japanese and knowledgeable about various software and hardware systems.
  • Training in MC Frames, AS400 systems, and IT practices specific to Japan.
  • Educational Background:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Professional Experience:
  • At least 5 years in computer systems maintenance or equivalent expertise.
  • 2 years of relevant experience, including Microsoft networking, TCP/IP, PC support, Active Directory, Cisco switching, and AS400.
  • Experience with Japanese language and cultural practices.
