Plasma Collection Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Plasma Collection Specialist to join our team at Freedom Plasma. As a key member of our donation center, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient collection of plasma donations.
Key Responsibilities- Verify and complete donation documentation, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Prepare plasma bottle collection for sampling, adhering to strict quality control standards.
- Collect and process donor tubes for testing, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Prepare donor testing samples for shipment, ensuring timely and secure delivery.
- Label samples and place plasma bottles in freezer for shipment, including repackaging and sorting.
- Complete donor records by entering collected information into the donor management computer system.
- Pack units for final shipment, ensuring accurate and efficient processing.
- Monitor the temperature of stored product in freezers and perform routine maintenance of freezer equipment.
- Perform daily, monthly, and quarterly equipment maintenance through cleaning and quality control checks, reporting any issues to supervisor.
- Maintain open communication within the service areas of the donation center, ensuring thorough documentation of necessary records.
- Learn and maintain thorough familiarity with all state and federal regulations, Standard Operating Procedure Manual, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), and internal Company Procedures.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable Company and departmental policies and procedures, with a willingness to learn and follow any new policies or procedures introduced in the future.
- Maintain an open line of communication with Management, ensuring seamless collaboration and problem-solving.
- Ensure and maintain the confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with donors, fellow employees, and vendors.
- Ability to accept performance feedback in a professional manner.
- Regular attendance and arriving on time to all scheduled shifts and mandatory meetings.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum one (1) year work experience preferred.
- Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Frequent leaning, bending, stooping, crouching, and reaching above the shoulders and below the knee.
- Ability to sit for extended periods for up to four (4) hours at a time.
- Ability to lift, tug, and pull up to fifty (50) pounds.
- A typical work environment with moderate noise level.
- May be exposed to freezing temperatures for short periods of time.
- Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
