Research Associate Position

This position will design and perform experiments under the direction of Dr. Jiao, develop and evaluate new research techniques and procedures, analyze results and procedures, prepare data for publications and grant applications, and supervise junior members in the lab.
Responsibilities- Design and perform a variety of examinations of specimens for the presence of diseases and pathological conditions;
- Prepare culture media; incubate and culture bacteria; stain slides; perform molecular biology techniques; electrophoresis; work with experimental animals.
- Oversee junior members in the lab.
- Assist PI for writing publications and grant applications.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by P.I.
A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in research, basic science or clinical laboratory particularly clinical trial research.
OR
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years' research and/or clinical experience; previous supervisory experience.
Preferred QualificationsExperience in genetic, molecular and/or cellular biology techniques.
Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesProficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Work EnvironmentThis position is located at Augusta University's Health Sciences Campus.
