Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Associate to join our team at Augusta University. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing administrative and technical work in support of research initiatives in an assigned laboratory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform molecular and cellular biology experiments, including cell and tissue culture, animal breeding and handling, and vision function assessment.
  • Maintain detailed lab records and support daily lab operations.
  • Participate in the preparation of scientific manuscripts, attend lab meetings, and present data at scientific meetings.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of students, graduate assistants, and other employees in the laboratory.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three years of research and/or clinical experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Excellent customer service, multi-tasking, organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality, keep accurate records, and make independent decisions.
