Job Summary

Clear Creek County, Colorado is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Deputy Sheriff to join our team. As a Deputy Sheriff, you will play a critical role in maintaining law and order, protecting the public, and upholding the law.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce federal and state laws, as well as county ordinances, to ensure public safety and order.
  • Respond to emergency calls, including life-threatening situations, and provide assistance as needed.
  • Conduct initial investigations, follow up on leads, and make arrests as necessary.
  • Prepare and submit reports, including crime scene reports, arrest reports, and other documentation.
  • Testify in court and provide expert testimony as required.
  • Perform traffic enforcement, routine patrol, and special duties as assigned.
  • Operate specialized law enforcement equipment, including firearms, radar, and other tools.
  • Provide assistance to the public, including civil assists, medical aid, and other non-law enforcement related tasks.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Colorado POST certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in all skills taught in the Police Academy.
  • Mastery-level skills in communications and handling stressful situations.
  • Valid Colorado driver's license required.
  • CPR and first aid certification required.
  • Ability to pass psychological, physical, and background examinations.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Working Conditions

Deputy Sheriffs work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with exposure to hazardous situations, including crimes, accidents, fires, and biohazards. Inoculations may be required to prevent or treat exposure to biohazards. Work is also conducted in extreme weather conditions, with exposure to hot and/or cold temperatures for extended periods of time.
