Detention Deputy

Clear Creek County, Colorado is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Detention Deputy to join our team in ensuring the safety and security of our detention facility. As a Detention Deputy, you will be responsible for transporting inmates to and from other facilities, acting as a court bailiff, supervising inmate workers, and maintaining accurate records.

• Enforce County Laws and Regulations: Ensure compliance with County laws, State statutes, and Federal regulations.
• Maintain Facility Security: Monitor the safety of inmates, detainees, visitors, and employees, and maintain the security of the facility.
• Transport Inmates: Transport inmates to and from court, other penal institutions, or medical appointments, and record all transportation transactions.
• Supervise Inmate Workers: Supervise inmate workers during inside and outside work activities, and ensure they are performing their duties safely and efficiently.
• Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inmate activities, including booking, bonding, and medical treatment.

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: At least one year of law enforcement experience, preferably in a correctional facility setting.
• Certifications: Colorado POST certification desired, CPR and first aid certification required.
• Language Skills: English, Spanish, or other foreign language helpful.

This position requires working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent exposure to stress and potentially hazardous situations. The successful candidate must be able to remain calm and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
