Detention Deputy

Clear Creek County, Colorado seeks a highly skilled and dedicated Detention Deputy to ensure the safety and security of our detention facility. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for transporting inmates, acting as a court bailiff, supervising inmate workers, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities- Enforce county laws, state and federal statutes, and maintain the security of the jail.
- Monitor and inspect cellblocks to ensure security and safety.
- Book in and bond out prisoners as necessary.
- Maintain inmate cash accounts and update records.
- Administer prescribed and non-prescribed medications.
- Log information regarding inmates and inspect cellblocks, kitchen, and work areas.
- Operate two-way radios, fingerprint machines, and other equipment.
- Transport inmates to and from court, other penal institutions, or medical appointments.
- Act as court bailiff and testify in court or hearings as required.
- Supervise inmate workers during inside and outside work activities.
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Requires at least one year of law enforcement experience.
- Valid Colorado Driver's License and certification for CPR and first aid.
- Colorado POST certification desired.
- Read, write, and speak English, Spanish, or other foreign language helpful.
This position involves working in a high-stress environment with potential exposure to biohazards, including blood-borne pathogens and airborne transmissions of TB. Members are required to use protective equipment and clothing, and inoculation may be required to prevent or treat exposures.
Compensation$67,930 to $81,568 DOQ, with benefits including retirement, health, dental, vision, wellness, and more.
