Job Title: Logistics Support Specialist

Reports To: Logistics Manager

Classification: Non-Exempt

Compensation: $19/hour

Role Summary

The Logistics Support Specialist will collaborate with the Logistics Team to uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work both collaboratively and independently, possess a keen attention to detail, and be committed to adhering to established protocols. This role involves supporting the main logistics operations under the guidance of the Logistics Manager to fulfill all shipping and distribution requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in assembling product orders as directed by the logistics manager and contribute to large-scale order fulfillment.
  • Stack and secure boxes on pallets, ensuring proper wrapping upon completion.
  • Support the organization and arrangement of the logistics area as instructed by supervisors.
  • Help with the loading and unloading of shipments from transport vehicles.
  • Complete necessary documentation for traceability using a logistics management system.
  • Participate in weekly inventory checks and assist in maintaining accurate stock levels.
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of paperwork prior to dispatch.
  • Engage in weekly meetings with the Logistics Manager and Supervisors to discuss objectives and priorities.
  • Independently manage daily tasks and responsibilities.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Adhere to all safety practices and regulatory requirements as instructed by management.
  • Participate in repacking activities as required.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Required Skills and Competencies
  • Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate initiative.
  • Effectively manage multiple responsibilities, punctuality, and adherence to deadlines.
  • Maintain organized records in compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Proficient in reading and writing in English.
  • Communicate information effectively to others.
  • Follow directions and complete tasks with integrity.
  • Proactively seek ways to assist colleagues.
Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a logistics or fulfillment environment is required, preferably with food products.
  • Ability to read and comprehend English for operating necessary machinery.
  • Familiarity with logistics management systems is advantageous.
Working Conditions
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, with potential for overtime on weekdays and weekends.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, with frequent bending and squatting.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • Work may involve extending arms overhead.
