NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
The Logistics Support Specialist will collaborate with the Warehouse Team to uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity. The ideal candidate will demonstrate teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to adhering to established procedures.
This role involves working within the primary warehouse environment under the guidance of the Warehouse Manager to fulfill all shipping and logistics requirements. Key responsibilities include stacking pallets, organizing inventory, printing boxes, and assisting in assembling product orders. Flexibility and a willingness to assist in various warehouse tasks are essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB TASKS
- Stack items onto pallets and secure them when complete.
- Support the organization and arrangement of the warehouse as instructed by supervisors.
- Aid in assembling product orders under the direction of the warehouse manager and assist in fulfilling large orders.
- Help with loading and unloading shipments from trucks.
- Complete documentation for traceability using a warehouse management system.
- Participate in weekly and monthly inventory counts.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of paperwork prior to shipping.
- Attend weekly meetings with the Warehouse Manager and other supervisors to discuss objectives and priorities.
- Collaborate with the team to enhance efficiency and quality in warehouse operations.
- Occasionally operate the box printer to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain clean and organized workspaces.
- Adhere to all safety practices and regulatory requirements as instructed by management.
- Engage in repacking activities as necessary.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors.
REQUIRED SKILL, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES
- Effective communication skills.
- Active listening and understanding of others' points of view.
- Proactive in offering assistance to others.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
- Organizational skills and record-keeping in compliance with regulations.
- Proficiency in reading and writing in English.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or fulfillment center is required, preferably with food products.
- Ability to read and comprehend English for operating machinery.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is advantageous.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, with potential for overtime.
- Prolonged standing for extended periods and repetitive bending and squatting.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Capability to work with hands extended overhead.
