ROLE SUMMARY:

Phaeton Solutions is in search of a Content Writer who will be responsible for crafting innovative and compelling content across various operational domains. This role encompasses the creation of essential documents such as job aids, procedural guides, FAQs, and other critical operational materials. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and a variety of contemporary software tools that facilitate effective content creation and dissemination. This position operates in a hybrid work model.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Content Creation: Develop and oversee comprehensive documentation including standard operating procedures (SOPs), job aids, FAQs, and newsletters tailored for employee use.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business leaders and front-line personnel to identify operational needs and convert them into clear, actionable content. Ensure messaging consistency and alignment with branding and style guidelines.
  • Editing and Review: Refine existing materials to maintain a consistent voice, grammar, and adherence to established branding standards.
  • Framework Establishment: Create and uphold a standard operating procedure framework to support effective content development practices.
  • Content Maintenance: Regularly review and refresh content to ensure accuracy and relevance, adapting to operational changes as necessary.
  • Timely Responses: Address urgent content requests promptly, producing high-quality materials within tight timelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical writing, content development, or a related field within a utility or operational setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and Canva.
  • Exceptional writing and editing capabilities with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret and convey technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity to work independently while managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • High level of technological proficiency, including familiarity with AI tools, website management, OneDrive, and other advanced digital platforms.
  • Experience in the utility sector, particularly in water and gas operations.
  • Knowledge of modern software applications utilized in content creation and distribution.
  • Experience in drafting processes and procedures for customer service or call center environments.
  • Experience in writing processes and procedures compliant with government or federal regulations.
  • Preferred candidates should possess their own suite of content creation tools.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related discipline.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid driver's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Successful completion of a fingerprint-based background check.
  • Ability to work onsite a minimum of 3-4 days per week.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in the utility industry, particularly in water and gas operations.
  • Familiarity with modern software applications used in content creation and distribution.
  • Experience in drafting processes and procedures for customer service or call center environments.
  • Experience in writing processes and procedures compliant with government or federal regulations.
