About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Graphic Design Learning Specialist to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a key member of our media team, you will play a critical role in creating engaging visuals that convey, display, and communicate course content and enhance the online learning experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with instructional designers to create multimedia content, including educational videos and graphic assets, for online and hybrid courses.
  • Design and develop visual elements, such as backgrounds, transitions, lower thirds, thumbnails, and text components, using Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Work with subject matter experts from various disciplines to translate abstract ideas and complex concepts into graphics.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of VCU's brand guidelines and ensure that all visual content aligns with these standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in graphic design and multimedia content creation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design or a related field.
  • Strong skills with multimedia content integration and proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Experience working with media specialists on graphic assets for motion graphics and a Learning Management System, preferably Canvas.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in higher education and/or instructional media.
Physical and Cognitive Requirements

This role requires the ability to perform a variety of physical and cognitive tasks, including climbing, walking, sitting, lifting, and repetitive motion. The ability to respond to multiple stimuli and work in a fast-paced environment is also essential.
