Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Training Officer to join our team at the University of Minnesota. As a Field Training Officer, you will be responsible for providing training and guidance to our emergency medical services (EMS) team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to respond to emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide training and guidance to EMS team members on emergency response procedures, including patient care and transportation.
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure team members are up-to-date on the latest emergency medical procedures and protocols.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of team members to assess their skills and knowledge, and provide feedback and coaching as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure seamless emergency response and coordination.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest emergency medical procedures and protocols, and incorporate this knowledge into training programs.
Requirements
  • Current certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency medical services, including experience as a field trainer or instructor.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
  • Strong knowledge of emergency medical procedures and protocols, including patient care and transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as a field trainer or instructor in emergency medical services.
  • Knowledge of emergency medical software and technology.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages.
Work Environment

The Field Training Officer will work in a fast-paced emergency medical services environment, responding to emergency situations and providing training and guidance to team members. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate clearly and effectively, and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
