Position: Clinical Care Assistant

Compensation: $19 to $20 on W2

Contract Duration: 4-6 months

Job Responsibilities:

  • Escort patients to examination areas and prepare them for consultations with healthcare providers.
  • Conduct patient interviews to ascertain the purpose of their visit and record vital signs, including height and weight.
  • Document the reason for the visit and vital statistics in the patient's medical records, including any necessary test results.
  • Administer medications as prescribed by a physician or other authorized healthcare provider.
  • Collect laboratory specimens, ensuring proper logging and preparation for testing.
  • Assist healthcare providers in examining and treating patients by providing necessary instruments or performing tasks such as administering injections and removing sutures.
  • Process medication refills and relay prescription information to pharmacies under the guidance of a healthcare provider.
  • Educate patients on medication usage, wound care, dressing changes, dietary restrictions, and activity limitations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment rooms in preparation for patient examinations.
  • Ensure proper cleaning and sterilization of instruments and disposal of contaminated materials.
  • Change dressings on wounds as required.
  • Coordinate with medical facilities to schedule referrals, tests, and admissions as necessary.
  • Manage inventory and order medical and pharmacy supplies as instructed.
  • Conduct routine office laboratory tests, such as urine pregnancy tests and rapid strep tests.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Schedule patient appointments.
  • Answer incoming calls and manage communications.
  • Update and maintain patient medical records.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team of healthcare professionals.
  • Exhibit a positive representation of the clinic.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with healthcare teams and patients.
  • Excellent customer service and telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and maintain emotional stability.
  • Proficient in computer usage and office equipment.
  • Capable of interacting positively and professionally with others.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
