Job Title: Computer Support Specialist

Curtis Institute of Music is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Computer Support Specialist to join our Information Technology team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our technology infrastructure, providing exceptional technical support to our staff, faculty, and students, and collaborating with our IT team to drive progress and improve team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Support: Provide first-level technical support to staff, faculty, and students, resolving technical issues and closing tickets in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Help Desk Management: Track tickets in our Help Desk system, utilizing ITIL best practices to ensure efficient and effective issue resolution.
  • Printer Support: Support and troubleshoot all printers, including ordering supplies and making service requests as needed.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with our IT team to drive progress, improve team collaboration, and display exceptional troubleshooting skills.
  • AV Support: Assist our Senior Academic Technology Specialist in supporting faculty and staff, and maintaining proper operation of campus AV systems.
Requirements:
  • Education/Experience: One or more years of experience providing technology support, with a strong background in AV equipment, Windows and Apple OS administration, and basic networking experience.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated excellence in a customer service role, excellent communication skills, and a demonstrated problem-solving attitude.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
  • Office Environment: Routine office environment with some light physical labor involving equipment moves and room setup.
  • On-Call: You will be one of several IT staff members on call for emergencies outside of business hours.
  • Remote Work: Occasional remote work may be approved on an as-needed basis if the department has adequate coverage.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Gross Annual Salary: $60,000.
  • Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, basic term life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance, short and long-term disability insurance, supplemental insurance options, and paid parental leave.
