Clinical Research Assistant I

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking a Clinical Trial Program Assistant I to support the Infectious Disease Sciences Program. The successful candidate will perform administrative and clinical responsibilities in support of two or more studies, working under the direction of an Infectious Disease Sciences Program faculty member.
The ideal candidate will have a strong written and verbal communication skills, attention-to-detail, and a professional, positive attitude when working with patients and care teams. They will also be highly motivated and independent, with the ability to physically transport kits and shipments between buildings.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing study recruitment activities and maintaining regular correspondence with research participants
- Assembling and handing off study kits to participants at multiple sites
- Coordinating local and distance sample collections with participants and/or nursing staff
- Performing specimen collection procedures for various studies
- Assisting with coordination of study visits and procedures
- Reviewing medical charts and entering data into online databases
- Performing basic laboratory procedures on collected samples
- Assisting with management of study supplies
- Reviewing medical records and sending out reports via fax or email
- Practicing infection control, isolation techniques, and universal precautions
- Participating and preparing data for research meetings and regulatory submission
- Assisting with study-related monitoring visits
Qualifications include a high school graduation or GED, minimum of one-year experience in a related field, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. A BA/BS in biological sciences with an interest in clinical research and healthcare is preferred.
