Metering Specialist II - Energy Solutions Expert

Job Summary:

The Metering Specialist II is a key member of our Energy Solutions team, responsible for surveying, scoping, and commissioning meters to support Measurement and Verification (M&V) and Thermal Services. This role requires a strong understanding of energy management principles, metering technologies, and data analytics.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops a list of meters needed for M&V daily scorecards and Thermal Services.
  • Performs onsite surveys of utility meters and thermal service metering locations to collect information.
  • Develops a metering scope of work that includes schematic drawings, 1-lines, and a schedule of parts.
  • Coordinates with Utility Providers to utilize their existing meter pulse outputs.
  • Coordinates with owner IT networking teams to provide data drops for metering.
  • Works with MEP design engineers to include the scope of work into stamped construction drawings.
  • Reviews contractor submittals to ensure the metering scope is being accounted for.
  • Coordinates with contractors and commissioning teams to fully start up and test the meters.
  • Reviews field calibration reports.
  • Works with our Data Delivery team to integrate metering points into our analytics software platform.
  • QC final data integration and provides a green light that data is valid and ready for use.
  • Manages ongoing communication between clients, stakeholders, and internal resources.
  • Takes ownership for spearheading metering from concept through execution.
  • Takes ownership of the needs of the metering team and calibrates efforts of the team to meet changing requirements.
  • Researches metering technologies, cut sheets, and technical information and applies to projects.
  • Performs assigned duties with minimal supervision, while working in a team problem-solving environment.
  • Handles advanced issues and problems and assists other team members with more complex issues.
  • Upholds Bernhard LLC's owner advocacy philosophy and organizational core values.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in a related field.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in other Microsoft applications.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and provide leadership.
  • Computer skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Highly organized.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
  • Experience with building control systems, BACnet, Modbus, utility meters, IT networking, Obvius Devices, Badger MAG Flow Meter, Shark Meters, Electric Gear Metering.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Math, Business, Economics, or a related field.

Travel Requirements:

Expected to travel 20% of the time to job sites to survey meters.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements:

  • Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and/or poles.
  • Climbing stairs.
  • Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Operating machinery and/or power tools.
  • Outdoor elements such as precipitation, heat, cold, and/or wind.
  • Noisy environment.
  • Light to heavy work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects from pounds.
