JOB DESCRIPTION: REGIONAL SALES EXECUTIVE
Position/Title: Regional Sales Executive
Exempt/Non-Exempt: Exempt
Reports to: Regional Sales Manager
GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION: Focuses on achieving maximum sales profitability, growth, and account penetration within a specified region and/or market segment by effectively marketing the company's products and services. Actively seeks to develop new business accounts and clientele. Successful sales professionals at The Garland Company, Inc. possess a diverse sales background and a refined marketing strategy. They excel in increasing sales, entering new markets, and generating optimal returns for both themselves and the organization. They are adept at navigating challenging marketing scenarios, such as clarifying the technical aspects of Garland's roofing solutions to prospective clients, competing against formidable competitors, and addressing customer perceptions that directly influence business outcomes. Experienced sales professionals at The Garland Company, Inc. consistently meet weekly, monthly, and yearly targets while advancing alongside the organization.
CORE & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Promotes, sells, and secures orders from existing and potential clients through a relationship-driven approach.
  • Demonstrates products and services to current and prospective clients, assisting them in selecting the most appropriate options.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to accounts with inquiries regarding their invoices through various communication channels.
DETAILS OF FUNCTION:
  • Establishes, nurtures, and maintains business relationships with current and potential clients in the assigned region/market segment to drive new business for the organization's offerings.
  • Conducts phone calls, in-person visits, and presentations to existing and potential clients.
  • Researches potential client sources and gathers information to evaluate their potential.
  • Prepares clear, effective written proposals and quotations for current and prospective clients.
  • Prioritizes the resolution of client issues and complaints.
  • Collaborates with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics, and technical service teams.
  • Analyzes the region/market's potential and assesses the value of existing and potential clients to the organization.
  • Creates and manages a customer value plan for existing clients, focusing on profile, share, and value opportunities.
  • Identifies advantages and contrasts the organization's offerings.
  • Develops and implements a personal sales strategy to maximize Return on Time Investment for the region/segment.
  • Provides management with detailed reports on client needs, issues, interests, competitive activities, and the potential for new products and services.
  • Stays informed on product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising trends, and promotional patterns by consulting relevant literature and liaising with marketing and technical service departments.
  • Participates in trade shows and conventions.
QUALIFICATIONS: Should possess sales experience and expertise in contract development and management. A minimum of a high school diploma is required, with a preference for a post-secondary degree. Must pass all required background screenings and secure necessary security clearances for accessing locations that demand stringent background checks. Demonstrated problem-solving skills; adept at finding solutions for clients through a consultative sales approach. Results-driven and capable of working independently or as part of a team. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and contact management software. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally is required, necessitating the ability to fly, drive, and hold a valid driver's license. Overnight travel, both domestic and international, is part of the role.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders in face-to-face, group, and one-on-one settings. Punctual attendance at client locations and other designated sites is essential. Good interpersonal skills and proficiency in using office equipment. Capable of prolonged standing, sitting, and walking. Requires agility to handle tasks at different heights and occasionally kneel or crouch. Accurate color distinction is necessary. Normal hearing and vision within standard ranges. Comfortable working at heights, following fall protection protocols. Manual dexterity to handle products and materials safely. Proficient in using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and working in diverse weather conditions. Tolerant of industrial and construction chemicals and solvents while adhering to safety protocols. Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and accommodate overnight travel.
