The City of Rapid City is a growing agency seeking a dedicated and skilled public safety professional to join our team. As a Police Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety and security of our community. Our department is committed to serving and protecting the people of Rapid City, and we are looking for individuals who share our passion for public service.
As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including responding to calls for service, investigating crimes, and providing motorized, foot, and bicycle patrol to residential and business areas. You will also be expected to practice problem-solving techniques in support of our department's demographic policing, community policing, and problem-solving strategies. In addition, you will enforce state and city ordinances, provide traffic control, and secure crime scenes to identify and collect any physical evidence present.
Our department offers a variety of benefits, including employer-paid health insurance premiums, 8% employer-matching retirement, life insurance benefits, short-term disability, and generous vacation and sick leave time off. We also provide uniforms and equipment, patrol officers enjoy a four-day work week, and we have a student loan reimbursement program, free gym memberships, paid quarterly wellness days, and a sabbatical program.
