Electrical Engineering Technician Job Description

Chenega MIOS SBU is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineering Technician to join our team. As an Electrical Engineering Technician, you will assist with the performance of electrical engineering statement of work development, providing guidance and consultation for electrical power distribution, lighting, and telecommunications systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Electrical Power Distribution: Provide guidance and consultation for electrical power distribution systems, including design, construction, and maintenance.
  • Lighting and Telecommunications Systems: Assist with the design, installation, and maintenance of lighting and telecommunications systems.
  • Inspections and Studies: Perform on-site field inspections and develop studies, designs, and construction documents for electrical systems.
  • Construction Monitoring: Assist the construction manager in monitoring the status of construction progress for quality and timeliness of construction on contracts that involve technically complex electrical system aspects.
  • Plan Review: Review plans and specifications for complex electrical systems in facilities such as hospitals, power plants, and other sophisticated projects involving complex and highly technical electrical equipment and systems.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in designing and producing electrical facility design drawings and specifications is required.
  • Clearance: Background check required with the ability to obtain an interim secret or secret clearance, prior to hire and start.

Physical Demands: The employee will be required to sit and talk or hear regularly, walk frequently, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment: The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment. During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.
