We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Support Specialist to join our team at North Suffolk Community Services Inc. As a key member of our residential support team, you will provide direct care to individuals living in a residential setting, helping them to achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to residents, helping them to develop daily living skills, manage their medication, and participate in community activities.
- Collaborate with residents to identify their strengths, interests, and goals, and develop personalized treatment plans to support their recovery.
- Assist residents with transportation, meal preparation, and household tasks, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
- Document resident progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in mental health support.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
- At least one year of experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorder.
- Valid driver's license and ability to transport residents as needed.
- MAP certification within five months of hire and completion of CPR/First Aid training during orientation.
- ASL fluency a plus.
