Job Title: Residential Support Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Specialist to join our team at North Suffolk Community Services Inc. As a key member of our residential program, you will play a vital role in providing direct care to individuals living in a residential setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to residents, helping them develop daily living skills, transportation, and money management.
  • Assist residents with medication administration, risk mitigation, and other areas based on their treatment plan.
  • Engage residents in activities that promote overall health and well-being, such as skill-building and socialization.
  • Collaborate with residents to identify personal priorities, preferences, strengths, and interests, and help them establish goals that support a life in recovery.
  • Arrange and transport residents to appointments or daily outings.
  • Complete administrative tasks, such as answering phones or filling out paperwork.
  • Assist with household tasks, such as cooking and cleaning.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent is required; Bachelor's Degree is highly preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorder.
  • Valid driver's license and MAP certification within five months of hire.
  • Additional skills: ASL fluency a plus.
