Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Specialist to join our team at North Suffolk Community Services Inc. As a Residential Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing direct care to individuals living in a residential setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and guidance to individuals with daily living skills, transportation, and skill-building.
  • Assist with medication administration, risk mitigation, and other areas based on the person-centered treatment plan.
  • Engage with individuals to promote overall health and well-being, achieve symptom stabilization, and develop skills impacted by mental illness.
  • Arrange and transport residents to appointments or daily outings.
  • Complete administrative tasks, such as answering phones or filling out paperwork.
  • Assist with household tasks, such as cooking and cleaning.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent is required. Bachelor's Degree is highly preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorder.
  • Valid driver's license and MAP certification within five months of hire.
  • Additional skills: ASL fluency a plus.
