Senior Radiation Safety Specialist

The Senior Radiation Safety Specialist is tasked with the stewardship of radiation safety programs, delivering extensive technical expertise and independent oversight of site Radiation Protection initiatives. This includes managing RP Operations, Radiological Effluent Monitoring, Environmental Safety, Dosimetry, RP Instrumentation, and ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) programs to ensure adherence to regulatory and licensing obligations.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert consultation and technical guidance in Health Physics to align with the operational needs of the organization.
- Conduct intricate radiological engineering assessments.
- Analyze trends in data and propose modifications or endorse changes in existing programs.
Health Physicist III:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a Physical Sciences discipline from an accredited institution, accompanied by a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in radiation protection roles.
- Alternatively, a combination of college coursework and/or experience in radiation protection totaling nine (9) years may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
- A Doctorate in Health Physics may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
- A Master's degree in Health Physics may also account for one (1) year of experience.
- Certification from the National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologist (NRRPT) may be applicable towards one (1) year of experience.
