Position Overview:

Role Responsibilities:
This full-time position is situated within the Radiation Oncology department, specializing in neuro-oncology and the management of intracranial tumors. The department utilizes cutting-edge Varian TrueBeam Technology, featuring a 6D couch, Brainlab Cyberknife, and Philips Big Bore CT. Additionally, we have introduced the innovative Zap-X gyroscopic radiosurgery system, the first of its kind globally. Treatment planning is conducted using Eclipse with ARIA as our electronic medical record system.

The ideal candidate will be self-driven, enthusiastic, and prepared to thrive in a dynamic work environment. The role requires participation in a call rotation with five other therapists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer the prescribed radiation therapy by verifying prescriptions, diagnoses, and patient identification.
  • Communicate procedures to patients, ensuring the delivery of the prescribed daily dose while adhering to radiation safety protocols.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and equipment in accordance with patient prescriptions and simulations.
  • Assist patients onto the treatment couch, paying close attention to their specific needs.
  • Monitor patients for any unusual reactions or complications during treatment, promptly reporting findings to nursing staff and the treating physician.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily treatments and regularly review patient charts to prevent errors.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.

Additional Information:

Eligible candidates may receive a sign-on bonus. This position operates Monday through Friday, with no weekend or holiday shifts required. Relocation assistance is available for qualified individuals.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:

  • Certificate in Radiation Therapy and an Associate's degree in Radiography.
  • A minimum of 36 months of experience as a radiation therapist in a radiation oncology setting.
  • Successful completion of an accredited radiation therapy education program.
  • Registered as a Radiation Therapist (RT(T)) by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Licensed as a Certified Therapy Technologist by the relevant state health department.
  • Proficient in advanced computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Five years of experience as a radiation therapist with increased responsibilities in a radiation oncology facility.
