Job Title: Behavioral Wellness Practitioner I/II

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Wellness Practitioner I/II to join our team at the County of Santa Barbara, CA. As a key member of our Behavioral Wellness Department, you will be responsible for providing assessment, diagnosis, counseling, and psychotherapeutic treatment to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans for clients with complex mental health needs.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions to promote mental health and well-being.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to ensure seamless referrals and linkage to services.
  • Participate in quality assurance and program evaluation studies to ensure the highest level of care.

Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing assessment, treatment planning, and intervention services to adults, children, or transitional age youth with severe and/or persistent mental illness.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary clinical team providing substance abuse or mental health services.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with homeless populations, co-occurring disorders, and trauma-informed care.
  • Knowledge of Medi-Cal documentation and electronic health records.
  • Ability to provide clinical supervision and training to staff.
