FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER

This role involves the planning, coordination, and execution of both preventive and corrective maintenance to guarantee the optimal functioning of SIG Combibloc line machinery. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional customer service abilities and possess the qualifications necessary for mechanical adjustments, troubleshooting, and repairing control systems. You will be instrumental in enhancing line performance and efficiency through continuous improvement practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and execute daily maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities.
  • Deliver comprehensive reports to the administrative team.
  • Plan and carry out scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to a high standard, adhering to established procedures to ensure effective equipment operation.
  • Support production after maintenance to restore the line to pre-maintenance efficiency levels while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical and automation issues and breakdowns.
  • Conduct thorough root cause analyses of issues to ensure lasting solutions, escalating with detailed documentation when necessary.
  • Manage claims and provide technical assistance in accordance with the claims process, including root cause analysis.
  • Install rebuilding kits as per guidelines and reintegrate equipment into the production environment with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Evaluate, identify, and address system performance challenges, implementing approved operational enhancements.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Associate's degree in Engineering, preferably in electrical or mechanical fields.
  • Experience: 4-8 years in a technical or machinery service role within an equipment manufacturing industry, involving complex troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of customer sites and packaging lines, with familiarity in carton and packaging technology; experience in aseptic processes is advantageous.
