Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Accounting Administrator II, supervises the day-to-day operations of the fiscal accounting office, providing direction and training to staff and reviewing staff work.

This position requires a high level of expertise in accounting and financial management, as well as strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Supervises and directs the work of accounting staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Reviews and approves financial reports and statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state regulations.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures for the fiscal accounting office, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Provides training and support to staff on accounting software and systems.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting and financial management, including supervisory experience.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with ability to work effectively with staff and other departments.
  • Knowledge of state accounting regulations and procedures.
