Job Title: Business Intelligence Engineer V

Join the University of Louisville as a Business Intelligence Engineer V and contribute to the growth of our Business Intelligence and Analytics team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and ETL processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements, and implementing data integration solutions using various tools and frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reliable, and scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Understand and manage the data needs of various stakeholders.
  • Develop and optimize data models, data warehouses, and data marts to support various business functions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Implement and manage data integration solutions using various tools and frameworks.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, with a proven track record of designing and implementing data solutions.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with database systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Oracle.
  • Experienced with Python, R, and other data science and analysis programming languages.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies and frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years in the higher education industry or in business analytics consulting, including experience in Business Intelligence Analytics as well as Healthcare, Accounting, Finance, and Operations analytics.
  • Demonstrated general proficiency with MS Analysis Services and Tabular Models builds, leveraging DAX for calculated measures/columns, M experience.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform and their data services (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Data Lake).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, Java, or Scala.
