This position is responsible for conducting thorough application and analytical testing and inspection of components to guarantee compliance with established standards; leveraging this expertise to develop, operate, and enhance quality assurance systems. The role also involves providing guidance and recommendations to management on all facets of quality assurance. This position supports the operations of Hyundai MOBIS - North America.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute systems to ensure products fulfill or surpass customer expectations.
- Conduct CMM programming for components requiring precise measurement using the CMM apparatus.
- Educate quality assurance personnel on the proper operation of CMM machines.
- Engage in change management processes to ensure product compliance with customer specifications.
- Establish principles for product quality assessment and control within the system.
- Oversee and evaluate deliverables throughout the lifecycle of each program.
- Assist management in formulating and updating quality programs.
- Aid in defining indicators of quality program status, performance metrics, and reporting necessities.
- Perform internal process audits to evaluate adherence to standards and the internal quality framework.
- Utilize problem-solving techniques to identify, prioritize, communicate, and rectify quality concerns.
- Document the implications of in-process quality challenges.
- Provide specialized quality training for staff.
- Execute all other assigned responsibilities.
CMM Quality Inspector Duties:
- Program and calibrate the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
- Carry out quality control inspections.
- Develop programs aimed at minimizing quality discrepancies.
- Train and mentor quality personnel as directed by the Quality Control Manager.
- Prepare inspection documentation, including detailed descriptions of findings.
- Investigate the causes of dimensional variances and suggest corrective measures.
- Perform maintenance as required.
- Collaborate with a team to achieve manufacturing deadlines.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
- Over 3 years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- At least 2 years in a CMM programming capacity.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T principles.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Goal-oriented, customer-centric, and results-focused.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proven interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in quality, electronic, electrical, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering is preferred.
- Experience with gears in a precision tolerance environment.
- CMM Operator Certification.
Licenses and Certifications: None required.
Working Conditions: The incumbent spends less than 50% of their time on the manufacturing floor.
