About the Role

Collins Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Electrical Engineer to join our team in Wilsonville, OR. As a key member of our Integrated Product Team (IPT), you will be responsible for supporting test solutions for new and existing Heads Up Display electronic products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Test Technician Support: Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting support for production test-related issues.
  • Trend and Yield Analysis: Analyze defect modes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Capacity Planning: Analyze product-specific equipment and optimize production processes.
  • Capital Equipment Selection: Evaluate and recommend capital test equipment using sound cost/payback analysis.
  • New Product Test Solutions: Review and optimize test solutions to maximize test requirement coverage and fit within the manufacturing process.
  • Project/Technical Presentations: Prepare and present project/technical information to peers, internal management, and customers.
  • Lean Electronics Improvement: Execute lean electronics improvement activities to optimize production processes.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate multiple projects and complex engineering activities while balancing production priorities and schedules.
  • Technical Assistance and Training: Provide technical assistance and training support for test technician training.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Lead the effort to identify and resolve root cause of failure modes.
  • Quality, Schedule, and Cost: Collaborate with peers to ensure quality, schedule, and cost objectives are met.
  • Process Improvement: Work closely with Industrial Engineering to continuously evaluate process flow and remove barriers impeding yield and throughput goals.
  • Design Change Coordination: Coordinate design changes with Engineering and Change Control Board, working with Design Engineers to analyze and resolve design problems.

  • Troubleshooting Skills: Enhance your troubleshooting skills and gain exposure to all levels of employees.
Qualifications
  • U.S. Person: Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status.
  • Education and Experience: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations, and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience, or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to solve complex systems problems.
  • Product Life Cycle: Understanding of product life cycle from design through development.
  • Manufacturing Experience: Manufacturing experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Software Experience: Experience with software applications such as Win Test, LabVIEW, National Instruments test stand application, Minitab data analysis tools, JMP, Python, PowerBI, Microsoft Power Apps, or similar scripting language to collate test data across multiple test stations, data locations, and formats.
  • Troubleshooting Equipment: Experience with troubleshooting equipment including oscilloscopes, DMMs, logic analyzers, power supplies, and electronic loads.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Experience differentiating root cause of production issues from collective data reporting on complex systems.
  • Optical Testing: Experience with optical testing of optical display systems.
  • Change Leadership: Proven change leader over legacy systems with diverse teams.
