Job Overview

Objective

The Building Automation Systems Specialist is a skilled technician tasked with delivering Retro-commissioning services for automation systems, building envelopes, and mechanical infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute software project uploads and manage data integration
  • Conduct comprehensive onsite evaluations
  • Gather field measurements and readings
  • Verify and validate automation systems, documenting all tested devices
  • Prepare and submit daily operational reports

Installation and Construction Duties:

  • Implement retrofits and new installations for commercial and light industrial projects
  • Program unitary controllers, area controllers, and web-based applications
  • Collaborate with customer IT teams on web deployment strategies
  • Oversee communication protocols, encryption, and database integration requirements

HVAC and Service Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, installations, commissioning, and servicing of BAS systems
  • Provide troubleshooting support for existing systems

General Expectations:

  • Maintain punctuality at job sites and meetings
  • Exhibit a professional and positive demeanor
  • Adapt to flexible scheduling, including overtime and after-hours work
  • Ensure timely completion of all daily documentation and reports

Work Environment

This role involves working in a field environment with exposure to dust, noise, oils, and greases.

Physical Requirements

Tasks may include reading, counting, writing, using hand and machine tools, occasional heavy lifting, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.

Position Type and Hours

This is a full-time position with standard hours from Monday to Friday.

Travel Requirements

Travel to various customer and prospect locations may be necessary.

Qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in HVAC and BAS systems
  • Completion of advanced HVAC system design courses
  • Vocational or Associate's Degree in electronics, mechanical systems, or a related field
  • Familiarity with low voltage power, communication, and network wiring practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of various platforms and protocols

  • Willingness to work flexible hours
