We are excited to collaborate with Futura Energy Group, a prominent player in the clean energy sector, in search of a skilled Automation and Controls Engineer to enhance their team.

Position Overview

This role involves engaging in the automation, design, development, engineering, enhancement, and validation of innovative projects within a refinery setting.

The position necessitates applying engineering principles alongside project management expertise, requiring a robust understanding of process controls, instrumentation, electrical power distribution, networks, and computing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering support to enhance the reliability and efficiency of electrical systems.
  • Develop frameworks to ensure accurate specifications for instruments and control system components, while assessing current process automation and designs.
  • Contribute to the design of new processes and equipment, and formulate recommendations for enhancements.
  • Establish systems to accurately specify instruments and control system components.
  • Automate controls surrounding innovative chemical process equipment.
  • Maintain and support the Control Network.
  • Assist or lead in conducting root cause failure analysis for electrical equipment and in developing standard practices and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to instrumentation, controls, networks, electrical problems, and systems, while proposing and implementing improvements.
  • Ensure that designs and installations are safe, maintainable, and comply with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Offer recommendations for equipment selection for both new and existing systems.
  • Evaluate vendor solutions and off-the-shelf products.
  • Analyze and provide insights based on electrical equipment testing reports.
  • Support operational teams in managing contract electrical equipment testing.
  • Analyze, monitor, and trend electrical testing data, making predictions and recommendations based on this analysis.

Required Qualifications:

  • A degree in engineering or a related field, or extensive experience in controls within the Oil & Gas and chemicals industry or a similar domain.
  • Proven experience in project management.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in controls and automation.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting electrical control systems, testing procedures, requirements, methodologies, and sequencing.
