About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Test Equipment Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems USA. As a Test Equipment Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and maintenance of electronic controls test equipment within our factory and other BAE Systems sites worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement hardware test requirements with in-house and/or third-party automated test solutions.
- Initiate continuous improvement of electronic controls in response to test performance and yields.
- Design, integrate, maintain, and configure automated test hardware and software.
- Support repair and maintenance for equipment installed at BAE Systems locations around the world.
- Liaise with Design Engineering to execute test solutions for new products.
Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, and 7 years of relevant experience.
- Electronics troubleshooting and instrument familiarity (analog, digital, power, communications).
- Demonstrated proficiency in problem-solving and critical thinking.
- Experience with electronics test equipment design and integration.
- Ability to interpret and implement electronic hardware test requirements.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience automating test instrumentation for both test and fault diagnosis.
- Ability to program in various software environments (e.g., Basic, UNIX, C, NI LabVIEW, NI Test Stand, Visual Studio, Python, etc.).
- Familiarity with hardware design certification standards and testing requirements.
- Experience working in a high-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience with statistical process control techniques and analytical tools (e.g., 6 Sigma).
