Role Overview

Position:
The Patient Support Specialist, also referred to as Program Specialist II, will offer tailored assistance to patients and healthcare professionals. Key responsibilities encompass addressing benefit inquiries, providing payment support, and resolving insurance-related concerns through both telephonic and online communication.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Provide customized assistance to patients and healthcare providers
  • Address inquiries regarding insurance benefits and out-of-pocket expenses
  • Collaborate with patients on reimbursement and payment issues
  • Research alternative reimbursement options
  • Respond to customer inquiries promptly and professionally
  • Facilitate patient assistance application processes
Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Associate's Degree with relevant experience in a healthcare environment
  • Excellent communication abilities and meticulous attention to detail
  • Capability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience in customer service or call center roles
  • Familiarity with patient assistance and reimbursement procedures
  • Background in medical billing and coding
Work Environment:
The position primarily involves seated tasks with occasional lifting and movement. The work setting is characterized by moderate noise levels and various demands.
