Job Title: MDS Coordinator, RN

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MDS Coordinator, RN to join our team at the Stanton Health Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for conducting utilization reviews, collaborating with healthcare providers, and ensuring compliance with ICD10 coding guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough utilization reviews to ensure accurate patient care and resource allocation
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to gather necessary medical information for accurate documentation
  • Utilize Athenahealth or similar systems to manage and update patient records
  • Ensure compliance with ICD10 coding guidelines and regulations
  • Coordinate and facilitate interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care plans
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of patient care provided
  • Provide guidance and education to nursing staff on medical coding and documentation best practices
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to medical coding and documentation
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of medical coding, including ICD10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
  • Experience in acute care or nursing home settings
  • Proficient in utilizing electronic health record systems, such as Athenahealth
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare providers and interdisciplinary teams
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in medical documentation and coding
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
